ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME

In conjunction with providing an enabling environment as part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, we help develop a child's Cultural Capital by providing an exciting and stimulating enrichment programme.

TRIPS AND VISITS

Every year we participate in local visits and further away trips by coach.  We visit the National Forest Adventure Farm to take part in the Nativity, visit the animals and meet Santa!  We go by coach to the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham and to visit the animals at Twycross Zoo.  Other trips and visits have included celebrating Chinese New Year at Wing Wah, learning about food with a tour of Sainsburys, visiting the library for storytime, having fun at 'the beach' and exploring plants, fish and animals at Byrkley Garden Centre.

CELEBRATIONS

We also love to celebrate different cultural events throughout the year.

We celebrate or take part in events to remember: our birthdays, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Valentines Day, World Book Day, Mothers Day, Eid, Easter, May Day, Fathers Day, Royal weddings and leaving Pre-School!

The children take part in craft activities, listen to stories, welcome visitors, go on trips, enjoy sampling festive food, attend parties and explore different events using a wide range of resources.  Parents, carers and relatives are invited to our Christmas performance, Easter bonnet parade and crowing of the May Queen and May King.

WELCOMING VISITORS

During the year we also welcome visitors from our local community and invite our families into our setting.

We hold a Mums and Dads stay and play week, all other relatives or significant people are also warmly welcomed.  This is a lovely chance to see how the children play, learn and interact with their friends.

During out themed weeks we invite the Lollipop Lady, dentist, healthcare professionals, fire service and parents/carers or other members of the community to share their diverse lives with the children.  We even have visits from our pets!

Every year we hold a Sports Day and invite our families to cheer on the children as they partake in different events.

As a registered charity, we hold different fund-raising events where we welcome the support of parents/carers and our local community.  These events provide social opportunities for both children and adults.  We host an Afternoon Tea with Santa, Paint a Pot sessions, bingo, fashion show, our very popular Race Nights and our very successful Ball.

FUN WEEK

To celebrate the end of the academic year, and to say goodbye to our children transitioning to school, we hold our annual fun week.

Fun week allows the children to take part in a range of activities during the last week of the term.  We have visited the library for storytime and crafts, enjoyed soft play at Wild Ones, been to the 'beach' in South Derbyshire, held a water fun day and enjoyed inflatable castles, ball pits and slides!

The children have the chance to dress up for our Leavers Prom and dance and party together.

On our final day together, we enjoy a visit from Magical Mayhem and then say goodbye during our Leaving assembly.
