KEYWORKERS

Each child is allocated to a Keyworker or Keyworker group which consists of 2 staff members who operate a buddy system.  This allows a constant familiar face for the children and these staff members will be the main point of contact for parents/carers.  The Keyworkers support children within their group whilst away from home to give them consistent, continuous care that will foster confidence and positive self-esteem and help them feel safe and secure, both emotionally and physically.  In addition the Keyworkers are in a position to tailor the group Curriculum to the unique needs of each individual child.  The Keyworkers maintain links with the child’s home setting, working with parents/carers through shared record keeping to ensure that all children are supported in reaching their full potential.

A good working relationship between parents/carers depends on open and regular communication that acknowledges the contribution of both parties.
